I want to thank you and The Mia Foundation for allowing me to be Marcys foster mom. Marcy has shown me such love and determination at a time when I really needed it. I needed her just as much as she needed me.
As Bob takes Marcy on her journey next week to meet you and her new family I will cry tears of sadness and joy. Sonja needs Marcy now and I know that she will give her a wonderful and loving home. I feel that God has brought Marcy to us to help our families heal. Its amazing how a little dog with a cleft lip can have such an imapct on our lives. Marcy is truly a miracle.
All my love, Susan - Florida

My daughter Candace was born with a cleft palate just like Mia. She is an amazing 15 yr old young lady now and still has a speech problem due to it. We all loved Mia and miss her every day. I have been following Mia for around a year now. I loved her sassy personality and her facial expressions. She had an amazing family that gave her so much love and support. I would love to see a book of Mia pictures with the great captions. I would buy several for birthday and Christmas gifts. There should be one on everyone's coffee table of their home. I support Sue and her mission of the foundation and think she has done a wonderful thing for all of these precious babies. Thank you for what you have done and continue to do for these animals.I have been following Mia for around a year now. I loved her sassy personality and her facial expressions.                                                                    Deb from Pennsylvania had her bike completely re-done in Mia's memory! And she wrote this poem:

If there ever was a memory...that could do so many things
It's a doggie up in heaven...with tiny little wings
She wants us all to know that her legacy lives on
In every single creature...with every single dawn

We know the things in life...need not be big at all
Mia's heart was the biggest...though her body was so small
We loved you then...and always will...your memory lives on
In each and every one of us...we can hear the Mia Song

ok I am gonna be informal here, ma I don't know you.. beyond us being FB friends and that beauty Mia... I was a combat medic with the Marines (yes this is Dad) so know you feel that loss, in a weird way I feel it oh so hard, she was an innocent... but there are some words I listened to once that helped me just a little... enough to move on to the next day...

If you are able,
save them a place
inside of you
and save one backward glance
when you are leaving
for the places they can
no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say
you loved them,
though you may
or may not have always.
Take what they have left
and what they have taught you
with their dying.

There is more to this but it mostly deals with war and casualties... but save that place you already have inside of you for her.. and when you move on and eventually get another dog... part of that dog will always be Mia... you will give that little piece to that puppy so she knows she has a heritage, a legend to live up to... Be strong ma... (lol as I am here crying for a dog I never met.). and honest the only Chihuahua I really looked at twice.... she was so special.. just a feeling in my heart....
